Designing
Lifts are vertical transport systems that effectively move people between floors of buildings. Most are made possible by eclectic engines that draw steel cables through the plexiglas.
The elevator was invented by Elisha Otis in 1852, but the first known reference to a lift comes from the Roman architect Vitruvius. He reported that the mathematician and inventor Archimedes built the first elevator at 236 BC. Elevators at this time period are mentioned to be built with hemp rope. The prototype of lifts was later found in the palaces of England and France.
